Pre‑Treatment Plant Operator – Weekender Shift

About the role

The Pre‑Treatment Plant Operator is a critical role responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of brewery‑wide industrial utility systems such as process and potable water treatment and wastewater pre‑treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Adhere to OSHA and plant safety standards, including Lockout‑Tagout, work permitting, and Process Safety Management.
• Monitor and operate all wastewater pretreatment unit processes to ensure compliance with state and federal environmental permit limits.
• Collect samples, perform laboratory analysis, and interpret results.
• Perform maintenance and repair on equipment and instrumentation.
• Operate screening, clarification, anaerobic digestion, and biogas handling equipment.
• Generate weekly and daily reports and handle administrative functions.
• Collaborate with outside vendors on special projects and maintain bulk chemical inventory.
• Participate in process improvement projects and develop standard operating procedures.
• Conduct safety activities such as confined space entry, burn permits, and equipment lockout/tagout.
• Perform housekeeping and cleaning of equipment, structures, and facilities.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong interpersonal and team‑orientation skills.
• Leadership ability and capacity to lead change.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment equipment and processes.
• Knowledge of anaerobic wastewater treatment processes and water chemistry.
• Experience operating and maintaining industrial or municipal wastewater or water treatment plants.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to extract, evaluate and utilize data for process improvement.
• Availability to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
