Pre‑Practicum Field Based Supervisor

About the role

The Pre‑Practicum Field Based Supervisor observes and documents teacher candidates' professional competencies, supporting their development in partnership with cooperating teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule, facilitate, and participate in observations with candidates and host teachers.
• Provide timely verbal and written feedback.
• Complete and submit all required paperwork, assessments, and evaluations by strict deadlines.
• Integrate university curriculum with school philosophy and monitor candidate progress.
• Communicate regularly with the Office of Licensure and Field Placement and identify areas of concern.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Minimum five years of teaching and/or administrative experience.
• Demonstrated supervisory knowledge of subject matter and teaching methodology.
• Proficiency with basic technology and online data‑management systems.
