Prep Cook - Boeing Center at Tech Port

About the role

Legends Global, through ASM Global, is hiring a Prep Cook for the Boeing Center at Tech Port Arena in San Antonio. The position reports to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef and helps maintain high food quality, presentation and timing while supporting daily kitchen operations. It is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position.

Key responsibilities

• Review recipes and prepare ingredients by chopping, peeling and cutting, then cook them
• Maintain a sanitary kitchen and store food and supplies properly with receive dates
• Handle raw and prepared foods safely and test food temperatures
• Wash dishes, take out trash and distribute and store clean pots, dishes and utensils
• Follow the ASM Global dress code (black pants, non-slip closed-toe shoes) and safety regulations
• Work evenings, weekends and holidays, and possibly extra hours depending on workload

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; at least 18 years old
• 1-3 years of food service or restaurant experience
• Food Handlers Permit required; ServSafe certification preferred
• Culinary certification or degree preferred but not required
• English preferred as primary language, not required
• Able to stand and walk for the duration of a shift and lift up to 50 pounds

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of cooking methods such as grilling, baking and boiling
• Basic understanding of food ingredients and how to read and follow a recipe
• Teamwork and ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Understanding of sanitation, cleanliness and personal hygiene
