Postgres SQL DBA – Infrastructure Consultant (Irvine, CA)

About the role

Infosys is seeking a PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join its Cloud unit in Irvine, CA. The role is positioned as an Infrastructure Consultant (Level 2) focused on delivering scalable, secure, and cost‑effective database solutions for enterprise clients.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and client teams to resolve complex incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and document preventive recommendations.
• Evaluate client IT infrastructure, prepare assessment reports and support due‑diligence activities.
• Design and document scalable PostgreSQL solutions, review reusable components and ensure proper version control.
• Coordinate deployments, post‑deployment testing and environment readiness.
• Manage maintenance schedules, emergency fixes and technology upgrades while maintaining system continuity.
• Analyze performance data, support capacity planning and optimize system behavior.
• Conduct security checks, recovery drills and compliance audits, implementing necessary security measures.

Required profile

• Experience in PostgreSQL database administration and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and database offerings.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and clients.
