Postdoctoral Scholar in Non-Hermitian Photonics & Quantum Optics

About the role

Saint Louis University seeks a motivated postdoctoral scholar to advance research in non-Hermitian classical and quantum photonic systems. You will join a collaborative team of theorists and experimentalists, contributing to cutting‑edge projects and mentoring graduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct theoretical and computational research on non-Hermitian photonics and quantum optics.
• Collaborate closely with experimental partners to guide and interpret experiments.
• Supervise and train graduate students in research methods and project work.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Optical Sciences, or a related field.
• Demonstrated research record in photonics, quantum optics, or related areas.
• Experience with integrated and free‑space optics.
• Strong ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Advanced programming and simulation in Matlab, LabView, Comsol, or Lumerical.
• Proficiency in integrated optics and free‑space optics techniques.
