Postdoctoral Researcher – Consumer Food Waste Reduction

The Cooperative Agricultural Research Center at Prairie View A&M University seeks a postdoctoral researcher to lead a pilot study on consumer food waste reduction among low‑income rural households. The role supports the center’s mission to improve food security through evidence‑based interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement mixed‑methods research tools to assess drivers of food waste in rural communities.
• Write research proposals and seek external funding.
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate students involved in the project.
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data, including focus groups and surveys.
• Prepare and disseminate findings through peer‑reviewed publications and presentations.
• Collaborate with the Director, Program Specialist, and other staff to translate findings into actionable messages for dietitians, health educators, and extension agents.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Food, Nutrition, or a related field.
• No prior postdoctoral experience required.
