Postdoctoral Researcher (CEES)

About the role

The Center for Energy & Environmental Sustainability (CEES) at Prairie View A&M University seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to support its Environmental Sustainability research thrust. The position is funded by a grant and will involve designing and conducting experiments across several advanced topics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute experiments in membrane separations, carbon sequestration, life‑cycle assessment, air quality, climate applications, transportation materials, and related AI tools.
• Analyze experimental data, maintain accurate research records, and prepare literature reviews, manuscripts, and technical reports.
• Develop new funding proposals, publish journal articles, and assist undergraduate and graduate researchers.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
• Strong scientific writing and oral communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with membrane processes (ultra/nano filtration, ceramic membranes, forward/reverse osmosis, air‑gap membrane distillation).
• Proficiency in using analytical instruments such as FTIR, TGA, XRD, XPS, UV‑Vis, AAS, SEM/EDS, BET surface area analyzer, GC‑MS, HPLC, and NMR.
• Competence in data analysis, scientific visualization, literature management, and research presentation software.
