About the role
The Lopez Group at Northeastern University seeks a postdoctoral researcher to advance sustainable polymer synthesis from CO₂. The role combines machine‑learning, high‑throughput quantum chemistry, and organic chemistry to develop metal‑free cyclopropenimine catalysts.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and apply computational and AI‑based methods, including high‑throughput quantum chemistry and machine learning.
- Guide the design of metal‑free cyclopropenimine catalysts, substrates, and reaction conditions for polyurethanes and polycarbonates.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on sustainable polymer synthesis projects.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field.
- Strong programming and machine‑learning skills.
- Solid foundation in organic or physical organic chemistry.
