About the role

The Shansky Lab at Northeastern University seeks a full‑time postdoctoral researcher to lead NIH‑funded studies on sex differences in cortical circuits that control defensive responses.

Key responsibilities

Manage a rodent colony and perform stereotaxic surgeries.
Conduct behavior testing, fiber photometry recordings, and subsequent data analysis.
Process brain tissue for immunohistochemistry, RNAscope, and fluorescent microscopy.

Required profile

PhD in neuroscience, psychology, or a related discipline.
Minimum three years of experience working in a rodent neuroscience laboratory.

Rodent colony management.
Stereotaxic surgery.
Behavior testing and fiber photometry.
Data analysis of neurophysiological recordings.
