Postdoctoral Research Associate – Entomology

About the role

The Texas A&M Agrilife Research Entomology team is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to lead rapid development of field‑ready treatments against screwworm‑caused myiasis. The role involves designing and executing experiments, collaborating with multi‑institutional partners, and generating high‑impact publications.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and expand the blow‑fly colony used for testing.
• Design and conduct dose‑response and time‑to‑kill studies for single and combined active ingredients against C. macellaria and C. hominivorax.
• Develop three treatment formats: wound‑conforming foam, bio‑adhesive spray, and immersion‑wash.
• Perform veterinary safety and residue testing in dairy and beef cattle, measuring active‑ingredient levels in milk, plasma, and edible tissues.
• Report LC90, LC99, and time‑to‑kill metrics and assess dose‑sparing efficacy with botanical additives.
• Plan, schedule, and document experiments with live organisms efficiently.
• Collaborate with researchers at Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and other partners.
• Prepare manuscripts and contribute to the scientific literature.
