Port Facilities Security Manager

About the role

TalentoHC is partnering with a maritime organization to hire an experienced Port Facilities Security Manager for an active terminal in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. The role leads day‑to‑day security operations, manages vendors, and ensures a safe, compliant environment for employees, visitors, vessels, and terminal activities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily security operations for an active maritime terminal
• Manage and monitor third‑party security vendors and security personnel
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and coverage based on vessel and terminal activity
• Support compliance with MARSEC, ISPS, Facility Security Plans and other maritime security requirements
• Conduct security inspections, audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness activities
• Oversee access control, CCTV, credentialing, and incident response procedures
• Coordinate with port authorities, U.S. Coast Guard, law enforcement, vessel personnel, and other stakeholders
• Support security investigations, incident reporting, drills, and corrective actions
• Partner with operational leadership on long‑term security planning and continuous improvement

Required profile

• 5+ years of security, terminal, or operations experience within a port, ferry, cruise, or maritime environment
• Prior security supervisory or management experience
• Strong understanding of marine terminal security and operational requirements
• Experience managing security vendors, guards, staffing, or site coverage
• Familiarity with MARSEC, ISPS, MTSA, PFSO, or Facility Security Plans
• Ability to work on‑site in St. Thomas and support operational needs around vessel schedules
