About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a dedicated Police Officer to join its campus public‑safety team. This full‑time, regular‑position role focuses on maintaining safety, enforcing university policies, and providing a secure environment for students, staff, patients, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol campus grounds and facilities, including night‑shift coverage, to deter and respond to incidents.
• Enforce university regulations, state laws, and campus policies while documenting all actions.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls, conduct investigations, and prepare detailed reports.
• Collaborate with local law‑enforcement agencies and internal departments to coordinate safety initiatives.
• Provide assistance and guidance to the university community during crises and special events.

Required profile

• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Valid law‑enforcement certification or equivalent experience in public safety.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse campus population.
