Police Officer I-IV

About the role

The West Texas A&M University Police Department is seeking qualified individuals for Police Officer levels I through IV. This full‑time, on‑site position provides law‑enforcement services to the campus community and surrounding areas under existing mutual‑aid agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol campus property and adjacent areas, responding to calls for service.
• Conduct preliminary investigations, traffic enforcement, arrests, accident investigations, and foot patrols.
• Provide building and property security, serve warrants, and perform extra‑duty assignments as required.
• Complete required in‑service training and maintain all necessary certifications.
• Prepare accurate reports using departmental computer systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0‑5 years of experience as a licensed Police Officer.
• Licensed Peace Officer in Texas with at least a TCOLE Basic certification.
• Ability to obtain a Texas Class C driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
• Eligibility to qualify for department‑approved firearms.
