About the role
Join the UAMS Police Department to protect patients, employees, students, visitors, and the campus community. Reporting to the Chief of Police and a Patrol Sergeant, you will enforce traffic, criminal, and parking regulations while maintaining a safe environment.
Key responsibilities
- Investigate campus accidents and complete required reports.
- Patrol interior and exterior of campus buildings, providing a visible presence.
- Enforce traffic‑control duties and campus parking regulations.
- Make arrests when necessary and provide court testimony as directed.
- Supervise Patrol Officers and Security Officers in the absence of senior staff.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED plus two years of law‑enforcement experience.
- At least 21 years of age with a valid Arkansas driver’s license.
- Certification as a Police Officer through the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training.
- Ability to walk 8–12 miles during a 12‑hour shift and climb multiple flights of stairs.
