Plumbing Estimator

About the role

The Plumbing Estimator prepares accurate and competitive estimates for plumbing installation, replacement, service, and project work. This role reviews plans, specifications, labor, materials, equipment and project conditions to develop detailed proposals and supports the hand‑off of awarded work to the field team.

Key responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, drawings and scope of work for plumbing projects.
• Prepare detailed estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors and other costs.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and determine required plumbing materials and equipment.
• Obtain and compare pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Develop competitive project proposals and quotes.
• Identify project requirements, exclusions, risks and clarification needs.
• Coordinate with the Plumbing Department to confirm labor requirements and installation methods.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, quotes and vendor pricing.
• Enter and maintain estimate information in company systems.
• Assist with revisions, change orders and updated pricing as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Plumbing, construction or mechanical estimating experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings and specifications.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using construction estimating or project management software.
