PLC Controls Electrician – Industrial Maintenance

About the role

Join 3M’s global team of innovative engineers and technicians as a PLC Controls Electrician. You will work on cutting‑edge automation equipment in a manufacturing environment, collaborating with peers worldwide to improve reliability and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Work with analog and digital AC/DC drive systems, calibrations, metrology, and human‑machine interfaces (HMIs).
• Create, read, modify, and update electrical diagrams, including PLC logic, process flow, instrument flow, and P&ID drawings.
• Utilize electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, meggers, and chart recorders in industrial plant applications.
• Maintain and improve manufacturing processes using Rockwell (Allen‑Bradley) and Siemens control systems.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of industrial electrical experience with process instrumentation and control systems.
• Associate degree in an electrical/electronic discipline or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work weekends, overtime, and rotating shifts.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Rockwell (Allen‑Bradley) PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Siemens PLC systems.
• Analog and digital AC/DC drive systems.
• Use of oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, meggers, and chart recorders.
• Reading and updating electrical diagrams, PLC logic, and P&ID drawings.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
