Pipefitter

About the role

The Pipefitter prepares, assembles, fits, and aligns metal components for welding and final installation on HVAC and construction projects. This position demands high‑quality craftsmanship, strict adherence to safety standards, and effective teamwork with welders and site supervisors.

Key responsibilities

• Measure, mark, cut, and fit metal components according to drawings and specifications.
• Assemble piping and mechanical components, perform tack welding when qualified, and verify fit‑up clearances before final welding.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, isometrics, and prefabricated components, reporting any discrepancies.
• Operate hand and power tools, grinders, cutting torches, and measuring instruments safely, and maintain tool condition.
• Ensure fit‑ups meet project tolerances, assist with inspections, and resolve issues prior to welding.
• Follow all jobsite safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and communicate hazards promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a fitter in industrial, structural, or mechanical environments.
• Strong ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.
• Proficiency with measuring tools, layout techniques, and fit‑up tolerances.
• Physical capability to stand for long periods, lift 50 lb+, and work in confined or elevated spaces.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
