Physician – Internist (Part‑time/Per Diem)

About the role

Elite Clinical Network is seeking a dedicated Physician – Internist to join its clinical research team on a part‑time/per‑diem basis. The role combines high‑quality patient care with active participation in Phase I‑IV clinical trials as a Principal Investigator or Sub‑Investigator.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Principal Investigator or Sub‑Investigator on multiple clinical trials.
• Conduct comprehensive physical exams, screen patients, and assess eligibility per protocol.
• Provide medical oversight, safety assessments, and ongoing care for trial participants.
• Collaborate with Clinical Research Coordinators, sponsors, and monitors to ensure protocol compliance and data integrity.
• Review and sign source documents, case report forms, and regulatory paperwork.
• Maintain trial documentation in line with ICH‑GCP, FDA, and sponsor requirements.
• Participate in site initiation, monitoring visits, and audits.
• Manage chronic and acute conditions of participants according to standard care and protocol guidelines.
• Educate patients on study procedures, informed consent, and potential side effects.
• Support recruitment and promote patient retention.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Valid, unrestricted medical license in the state of employment.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine (Family or Geriatric Medicine acceptable).
• Current GCP certification or willingness to obtain before start.
• Minimum one year of clinical practice experience.

Required skills

• Familiarity with FDA regulations, ICH‑GCP, and clinical trial protocols.
• Experience with industry‑sponsored clinical trials (preferred).
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMRs) and clinical trial management systems (CTMS).
• Strong attention to detail for accurate documentation.
