Physician - Internal Medicine - Full Time Academic

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health System – Monroe Medical Center and LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport are seeking an Internal Medicine physician for a full‑time academic position. The role combines patient care with teaching responsibilities and offers a faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality primary care, treatment and diagnostic services to patients in the Monroe region.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, LPN care coordinators and outpatient care managers to develop individualized care plans.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents, contributing to academic leadership and curriculum development.

Required profile

• Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine.
• Eligibility for active Louisiana medical licensure.
• Graduating Internal Medicine residents are encouraged to apply.
• Willingness to obtain an Assistant or Associate Professor appointment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record system.
