Physician Assistant – Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Physician Assistant to join the Transplant Pulmonology program at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The role focuses on pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine, providing comprehensive assessment and management of lung and transplant patients.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical and psychosocial status through interviews, histories, examinations, and diagnostic studies.
• Assist physicians with medical procedures, vital signs, nursing assessments, and documentation.
• Write prescriptions, order laboratory tests, and coordinate follow‑up care according to practice protocols.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and discharge planning.
• Participate in clinical research protocols and coordinate patient care with research staff.
• Provide patient education and conduct telephone or in‑person follow‑up.

Required profile

• Certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in pulmonary, critical care, or sleep medicine preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
