Physical Security Design Lead & Contract Document Specialist

About the role

Anthropic’s Global Safety, Intelligence, and Security (GSIS) organization is looking for a seasoned Physical Security Design Lead and Contract Document Specialist to join the Global Design Engineering Construction team. The role will own the contract document basis of design (BOD) and reusable design templates that ensure consistency across Anthropic’s worldwide office construction program. You will act as the technical authority for access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, intercommunications, radio, and network systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve the contract document BOD, starting from site and risk assessments at project kickoff.
• Author and maintain design templates (drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, riser diagrams) for all physical security systems, adapting them to international and regional codes.
• Review consultant deliverables (SD/DD/CD/RIBA packages, specifications, schedules) for accuracy and alignment with the BOD, coordinating with architectural, electrical/fire alarm, network, AV, and real‑estate teams.
• Provide specification clarifications, respond to RFIs, review submittals and shop‑drawing back‑checks during bid, construction, and handover phases.
• Ensure close‑out documentation and as‑built records remain consistent with issued contract documents.
• Capture lessons learned from risk assessment through post‑occupancy audits and feed them back into the design documentation using automation and AI‑assisted workflows.

Required profile

• Significant experience in physical security system design and contract documentation for large‑scale office facilities.
• Proven ability to act as a subject‑matter expert across multiple security disciplines and to influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of international and regional security standards, building codes, and construction processes.
• Experience collaborating with security operations, real‑estate, network, and design consultant teams.
