People & Culture Manager

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a People & Culture Manager to lead HR initiatives across its global operations. This remote position will serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team, ensuring compliance with policies and labor laws while fostering a culture of integrity, service, accountability, and equality.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on HR policies, practices, and processes, ensuring alignment with internal standards and applicable labor regulations.
• Handle employee relations matters, including benefits, payroll, HRIS, leaves of absence, and workplace investigations.
• Lead talent acquisition activities from job description development to onboarding, in collaboration with hiring managers.
• Support the refinement of HR lifecycle processes and promote the IRC Way values throughout the organization.
• Ensure compliance with organization‑wide policies and local labor law requirements.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of HR best practices and labor law, preferably in a nonprofit or international context.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to act as a trusted advisor to managers and staff.
• Experience managing employee relations, investigations, and talent acquisition end‑to‑end.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
