Pediatric Urologist – Academic & Community Practice

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and LSU Health Sciences Center are seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible pediatric urologist to join their established academic urology practice in Shreveport, Louisiana. The role combines inpatient and outpatient care, academic teaching, and leadership of a growing pediatric urology service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pediatric urology care, including surgical and non‑surgical management, in a dedicated pediatric inpatient unit and outpatient clinic.
• Participate in resident education, serve as faculty at LSU Health Shreveport, and contribute to academic research and publications.
• Collaborate with pediatric surgical specialists, hospitalists, intensivists, and anesthesia teams within the health system.
• Maintain on‑call coverage with flexible shared call schedule and support from residents and APPs.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in urology with fellowship training in pediatric urology (AUA/SPU pathway).
• Completion of an accredited pediatric urology fellowship.
• Commitment to academic medicine and ability to work in a team‑based environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system.
• Experience in pediatric surgical procedures and peri‑operative care.
