Payroll Tax Coordinator

About the role

Sequoia is looking for a Payroll Tax Coordinator to manage tax payment and filing operations for its clients. The role is based in Tempe, Arizona and requires on‑site presence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage incoming tax correspondence received via email, US mail, DocuSign, RightSignature, etc., ensuring timely processing.
• Support tax notice resolution by uploading documents to cases, routing them to appropriate internal teams, and categorizing requests correctly.
• Assist Payroll Tax Specialists by submitting tax documents to agencies, following up with tax authorities, obtaining new account information, and resolving issues.
• Support new client location processing and maintain client payroll tax account information in systems such as PrismHR, MasterTax, ADP SmartCompliance, and Salesforce.
• Assist with compliance‑related reporting tasks for quarter‑end, year‑end, and other required frequencies.
• Handle additional projects and tasks on an as‑needed basis.

Required profile

• 3+ years of client service or administrative experience.
• Experience in a multi‑client payroll tax processing environment; PEO, insurance, or start‑up background is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong spreadsheet and analytical abilities.
• Hands‑on, team‑player attitude with a can‑do approach.
• Bachelor’s degree.
