Payroll Payments Coordinator

About the role

The Payroll Payments Coordinator supports 3M's HR organization by managing end‑to‑end payroll operations for the United States and Canada. You will ensure accurate, timely payroll delivery while identifying opportunities for process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Process and support full‑cycle US and Canada payrolls, including year‑end and reporting requirements.
• Handle third‑party payments, remittances, and reconciliation.
• Identify, document, and recommend payroll process improvements; work with Technology and IT teams to test and implement changes.
• Complete SOX and audit requirements related to payroll.
• Provide support to employees and supervisors on payroll and time‑reporting questions.
• Maintain compliance with payroll laws and regulations and align with global payroll strategies.
• Research and apply external trends to enhance HR processes.
• Participate in assigned projects.

Required profile

• High School diploma/GED and at least three years of experience in payroll, HR, or finance.
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• Payroll experience using SAP and Workday.
• Ability to extract, analyze, and interpret HR/payroll data.
• Strong technology orientation and understanding of HR systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Project‑management experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including macro development.
