Patient Care Representative – Front Desk

About the role

The Patient Care Representative is the first point of contact for patients visiting the Key Whitman Eye Center in Dallas. This front‑desk role ensures a smooth, welcoming experience while supporting the clinic’s commitment to innovative eye care.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally and verify their personal and insurance information.
• Check patients in and out, schedule appointments, and manage follow‑up visits.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system and handle fax requests for chart notes.
• Monitor patient flow, track wait times, and coordinate with clinical staff to optimize efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable waiting area and assist visitors, vendors, and staff as needed.
• Open and close daily patient accounting controls, post charges, and ensure accurate billing.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1‑3 years of experience in a healthcare reception or front‑desk environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced setting.
• Attention to detail, time‑management skills, and knowledge of HIPAA compliance.
