Pastry Cook – Makena Golf & Beach Club, Maui

About the role

We are looking for a Pastry Cook 1 to join the Food and Beverage team at Makena Golf & Beach Club on Maui. The successful candidate will create high‑quality pastries, breads and desserts that meet the club’s standards and enhance the guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Create, prepare, produce and bake pastries, breads, rolls and desserts for the club.
• Follow designated recipes and quality standards for all pastry items.
• Develop pastry menu pairings with dinner menus in collaboration with the Executive or Sous Chef.
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards.
• Work all stations on both AM and PM shifts and assist in other kitchen areas as needed.
• Ensure 100% quality food production, meet timing requirements, and properly store, rotate, label and date food items.
• Set up and break down culinary stations, report equipment repairs, and anticipate problems.
• Flexibly work special events, off‑site stations, and, when necessary, wash dishes.
• Interact with guests about menus and special requests.
• Maintain logs, documentation, and safe work practices, and comply with all company policies.

Required profile

• At least one year of line cook or prep cook experience in a large resort, hotel or club.
• At least one year of pastry cook experience in a large resort, hotel or club.
• Culinary degree or related training preferred.
• Food Safety Certification.
• Knowledge of culinary and baking techniques.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
