Part‑Time Lecturer – Art & Design

About the role

The College of Arts, Media and Design at Northeastern University seeks part‑time lecturers for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. Lecturers will teach introductory and intermediate courses across art, media, and design disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate or graduate courses in areas such as drawing, painting, sculpture, graphic design, interaction design, animation, photography, visual studies, or art history.
• Engage students at varying levels of study and adapt instruction to enrollment, funding, and departmental needs.

Required profile

• Possess an MFA or equivalent terminal degree.
• Minimum two years of successful college teaching experience.
• Maintain an active professional practice with current exhibitions, publications, or creative work.

Required skills

• Ability to effectively engage and instruct students in art, media, or design subjects.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
