About the role
The Georgia Forestry Commission is seeking a part‑time Dispatcher to support its central dispatch center. The position works the midnight shift (approximately 10 PM–7 AM) with a 29‑hour weekly limit, offering OJT pay of $13.50 per hour and post‑training pay of $15.50 per hour after completing morning‑shift training.
Key responsibilities
- Dispatch wildland fire equipment and personnel to active wildfires and other emergencies.
- Receive, review, and process burn‑permit requests.
- Send appropriate crews to investigate smoke complaints.
- Answer general information requests and connect callers to the correct department.
Required profile
- Calm under pressure and able to manage multiple phone calls simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and sound judgment.
- Excellent typing proficiency.
- Availability for midnight shift hours within the 29‑hour weekly limit.
