Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer - Campus Patrol

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time unarmed security officer for a higher education campus in Chicago, Illinois. The officer patrols assigned areas, keeps a visible presence to deter security-related incidents and supports a welcoming campus environment. The schedule is Friday 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors and campus partners while carrying out security procedures, location-specific policies and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Carry out regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, academic spaces, parking areas and surrounding property to spot and report unusual conditions or security concerns.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, calls for assistance and critical situations, following established protocols and contacting campus resources or emergency services.
• Monitor access points and support visitor management procedures to keep entry and exit orderly.
• Prepare accurate activity reports and share observations, incidents and security or maintenance concerns with Allied Universal leadership and designated contacts.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required depending on state and local law.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
