Part-Time Security Officer - Patrol

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, offers a part-time Security Officer Patrol position in Rapid City, South Dakota. The role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the option to pick up extra shifts through a claim-a-shift program, building toward a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors and employees at a food and beverage distribution location by following security procedures, site policies and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Carry out regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, warehouse areas, parking areas, loading docks and perimeter to spot unusual activity and support site access requirements.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry for visitors and vendors, and help maintain visitor and delivery documentation.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms and critical situations, notify the right people and write clear, accurate reports.
• Deter unauthorized access, theft and other security concerns through a visible presence and timely communication with site contacts and leadership.

Required profile

• At least six months of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• A guard card or license is preferred, as is customer service experience and comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Applicants must pass a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; a valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
