Part-Time Security Officer - Foot Patrol

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time, unarmed foot patrol security officer in Jonestown, Pennsylvania. The officer serves and safeguards clients in retail and mall locations, maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents and supporting a welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants and staff. The schedule is day time, Monday to Sunday, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to shoppers, visitors and store personnel while carrying out security procedures and location-specific policies, and respond to emergencies when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail spaces, common areas, parking areas and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, access issues and potential hazards and report observations according to location procedures.
• Maintain a professional presence while assisting with access control, giving directions and communicating with store personnel or responding agencies as needed.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation and drug screening as conditions of employment; licensing may be required depending on state and local laws.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
