Part-Time Security Officer Access Control Driver

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time Security Officer Access Control Driver in River Rouge, Michigan. The role serves and safeguards clients across industries such as utilities by managing site access, verifying credentials, monitoring entry points and helping deter incidents through a visible presence. The position is part time, with three shifts listed: Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out security procedures, site policies, access-control protocols and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial utilities location.
• Control access to the facility by verifying credentials, keeping visitor and contractor logs, issuing access materials and directing authorized personnel.
• Screen incoming personnel, vehicles, deliveries and equipment, document discrepancies and report concerns to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following notification and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, operational areas, parking areas and the facility perimeter.

Required profile

• EMT certification.
• Valid driver's license in line with Allied Universal driver policy; required for driving positions only.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Preferred: access control and badge experience, comfort using a computer or tablet, and customer service experience.
• Applicants undergo a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required before employment.
