Part Time Juvenile Detention Counselor

About the role

This part‑time position supports juvenile rehabilitation at the Cadwell Regional Youth Detention Center. The counselor delivers structured cognitive‑behavioral and life‑skills group sessions, documents program activities, and performs administrative duties to maintain a safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of all programs and case‑management services.
• Facilitate or co‑facilitate group counseling sessions and participate in facility‑wide PBIS activities.
• Conduct daily rounds on the living unit to identify and address youth needs.
• Provide evening and weekend coverage for social, emotional, and behavioral support.
• Assist with admission, orientation, and documentation of youth in accordance with policy.
• Deliver programming to youth and assist full‑time counselors during critical needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (any field).
• Preferred degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Forensic Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field.
• At least one year of direct case‑management experience working with youth or similar populations.
