About the role
This part‑time position supports the rehabilitation of youth in a detention or long‑term facility in Cadwell, GA. The counselor delivers structured cognitive‑behavioral and life‑skills group sessions, documents program activities, and assists with daily operations to maintain a safe environment.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate or co‑facilitate cognitive‑behavioral and life‑skills groups.
- Document all programmatic activities and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct daily rounds on the living unit to identify and address youth needs.
- Provide evening and weekend coverage for social, emotional, and behavioral support.
- Assist with admission, orientation, and case management as needed.
- Participate in facility‑wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) activities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Preference for degrees in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Forensic Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or related fields.
- One or more years of direct case‑management experience working with youth is preferred.
