Part-time Instructor – Construction Management

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock seeks a part‑time, 9‑month Instructor to teach Construction Management and Civil/Construction Engineering courses. The role involves delivering four undergraduate classes per academic year and supporting student competitions and extracurricular projects.

Key responsibilities

• Teach four undergraduate courses each academic year, preparing syllabi, lectures, and assessments.
• Grade assignments, exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
• Advise and mentor students on academic and project‑based activities, including competitions.
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and university service activities.
• Maintain compliance with university, state, and federal policies governing academic appointments.

Required profile

• BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in construction engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate students effectively.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to student success.
• Preferred: Active professional with ten (10) years of experience in the construction or engineering sector.

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of construction management principles and civil engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to develop and deliver curriculum for undergraduate courses.
