Part-time House Manager & Family Assistant

About the role

We are a busy family in Overland Park, Kansas seeking a proactive part‑time House Manager & Family Assistant. The role supports two children (ages 7 and 11) and a dog, helping keep the household running smoothly during weekdays.

Key responsibilities

• Pick up and drop off children for school and extracurricular activities, and supervise after‑school routines including homework, meals and chores.
• Plan, prepare and clean up after snacks and dinner‑level meals for the kids, focusing on balanced, portable options.
• Manage household laundry, ironing, bedding rotation and keep the laundry area organized.
• Reset and tidy the home daily (dishes, clutter, surfaces, vacuuming, trash removal) and maintain organization systems.
• Restock pantry, fridge and household supplies; handle light errands and recycling.
• Coordinate with house cleaners, landscapers and service vendors; maintain a seasonal maintenance calendar.
• Provide occasional dog feeding, walking or transport to daycare and keep pet supplies stocked.
• Maintain the family calendar, schedule appointments and track budget receipts for job‑related expenses.

Required profile

• Self‑directed, organized problem‑solver who takes initiative without being told.
• Comfortable working with energetic children, able to set clear boundaries and support homework completion.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain before start).
• Up‑to‑date vaccinations (MMR, annual flu shot) with legal accommodations as needed.
• Enjoys a smoke‑free environment and is comfortable around a friendly dog.
