Paint Aircraft Technician A

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Paint Aircraft Technician A to prepare and paint aircraft components and airframes. The role involves following Airbus manufacturing procedures to ensure high‑quality finishes that meet customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by sanding, masking, filling, washing and dent removal, and apply corrosion‑preventive treatments, primers and finish coats.
• Mix and tint paints, layout paint schemes, and apply coatings according to technical data and customer requirements.
• Perform brush touch‑ups, clean striping lines, and remove overspray to achieve customer acceptance.
• Complete daily documentation, including timesheets, discrepancy sheets, tool‑box audits and sign‑offs using the correct references.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade‑school training is a plus.
• Minimum four years of experience in painting and paint preparation on metal and composite/fiberglass components.
• U.S. person status to meet ITAR requirements.

Required skills

• Strong paint preparation and aircraft painting skills.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and Bills of Material.
• Proficiency with basic hand tools for hardware removal and installation.
