Outside Sales Representative - Cabinet & Furniture Manufacturers

About the role

Richelieu, a North American distributor, importer and manufacturer of specialty hardware, is looking for an Outside Sales Representative to grow its local business region. The candidate must live inside the sales territory and manage day-to-day sales relationships with cabinet and furniture manufacturers, as well as residential and commercial woodworkers, through structured consultative sales discussions, in person and virtually.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the overall relationship and day-to-day sales activities with cabinet and furniture manufacturers and woodworkers in the territory
• Engage in consultative sales discussions, acting as a business advisor to customers
• Use the CRM program to track daily activity, plan and optimize sales calls and follow up on customer requests
• Travel regularly by car, visiting customers in person three to four days per week

Required profile

• Sales experience, preferably outside sales in the building materials or construction industries
• Eager to learn, with a passion for solving customer problems and driving sales growth
• Knowledge or experience in building materials, bathroom or kitchen cabinetry, closets or millwork is preferred
• Able to self-direct, manage time and responsibilities, and organize and plan
• Own reliable transportation, as the role involves regular automobile travel
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs occasionally

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook
• Ability to learn and use the company's CRM program
