Outside Property Claim Representative

About the role

Travelers is seeking an Outside Property Claim Representative to handle first‑party property claims of moderate severity and complexity. The position is fully remote, serving insureds and agents in the New York City area, and offers the opportunity to work with innovative technologies while delivering high‑quality claim resolutions.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate first‑party property claims, including field inspections, damage photography, and written or computer‑assisted estimates.
• Analyze leases, contracts, bylaws, and other documents to determine coverage, damages, and liability.
• Maintain accurate claim and expense reserves and ensure compliance with internal, external, and state regulations.
• Collaborate with other lines of business (auto, workers’ compensation, underwriting) as needed.
• Provide clear communication with customers throughout the claim lifecycle.

Required profile

• Under moderate supervision, capable of handling claims with moderate complexity.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess coverage, damages, and liability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to reside in or relocate at personal expense to the New York City territory.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer‑assisted estimating tools.
• Ability to conduct thorough field inspections and document losses accurately.
