Organic Search Marketer - SEO/AEO

About the role

Mercury is looking for an Organic Search Marketer to shape how its expertise appears across traditional search engines, answer engines, and AI‑native discovery platforms. You will drive traffic and AI visibility for key products such as Mercury's Business Credit Cards, turning complex content into discoverable, authoritative resources for founders and entrepreneurs.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own high‑impact SEO and AI search strategies for priority products, using data, competitor analysis, and audience insights.
• Prioritize opportunities, close coverage gaps, and improve content effectiveness to generate qualified traffic and revenue.
• Partner with Social, Product, Product Marketing, Engineering, and Community teams to ship SEO/AEO initiatives across blog posts, product pages, video scripts, and community surfaces.
• Own the technical SEO/AEO roadmap, collaborating with Engineering to enhance page speed, rendering, site architecture, and overall performance.
• Design and run experiments, evaluate trade‑offs, and reallocate resources when initiatives do not meet goals.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with strong commercial instincts and deep fluency in SEO/AEO.
• Technical understanding of how LLMs, bots, and traditional search engines consume and rank content.
• Proven ability to build alignment across cross‑functional teams and navigate competing priorities.
• Analytical thinker who can design experiments and act quickly to learn and ship.
• Commitment to raising the craft, establishing standards, and mentoring teammates.
