Operations Manager – Airport Deicing Services

About the role

As the Operations Manager for the IAD station, you will lead all operational activities of Inland Deicing Services at Washington Dulles International Airport. You will be responsible for hiring, training, quality assurance and driving process improvements to ensure timely and safe de‑icing services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily station operations, safety, performance, maintenance, flight operations, facility requirements and customer service.
• Conduct station audits, prepare airline reports and address FAA/airline inquiries.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the Airport Authority and airline customers.
• Communicate airline manual updates, coordinate investigations and recommend safety measures.
• Monitor equipment maintenance and deliver safety training to all base employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of managerial experience overseeing operations and budgets.
• Successful completion of background and clearance requirements.
• Broad airline operational experience covering customer service, maintenance, flight operations and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of airline policies, warehouse procedures, equipment handling and aircraft handling.

Required skills

• AOSSP/MSP certification.
• FAA/TSA certification.
• Dangerous goods, Hazmat and SIDA handling certifications.
• Equipment certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
