Operations Coordinator

About the role

Brenntag is looking for an Operations Coordinator in East Hartford. The role supports the Branch Operations Manager in keeping the department running smoothly, covering order handling, dispatch, loading and unloading, and other production and warehouse duties. There are no supervisory responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Branch Operations Manager with tasks such as batch generation, spreadsheet creation and maintenance, inventory management, production prioritization and customer communication.
• Create and receive orders in the BUS for designated raw materials, verify product, freight costs and delivery dates.
• Work with Purchasing and the Key Account Coordinator to keep product codes, batches, SDS and COA information up to date.
• Dispatch Brenntag drivers and preferred carriers for pickups and deliveries, assign trailers with the right products and quantities, and choose the most cost-effective transport methods when possible.
• Operate a forklift and spotter truck, load and unload trucks, work in high or elevated areas, and offload and connect rail cars.
• Raise supply and demand issues with the Branch Operations Manager and Operations Supervisor, represent Brenntag professionally, follow all policies and procedures, attend required training, and perform other production and warehouse duties.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, plus two years of related experience or training; a bachelor's degree is a plus.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Good organizational skills, ability to prioritize work and meet tight deadlines, and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.

Required skills

• Thorough understanding of the BUS computer system.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
