About the role

The Operating Room Assistant provides technical support to the surgical team, assists with patient care, and helps maintain a safe, clean environment in the operating suite. This PRN position works on‑site at the Kings Hwy facility, handling a variety of duties that keep the OR running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

  • Provides technical support and assists the surgical team during procedures.
  • Transports patients, runs errands, relays messages, and helps with patient care and room turnover.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment in patient care and surgical areas.
  • Performs both indirect and direct patient care duties and adapts to rapid changes in the department.

Required profile

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working calmly in pressure situations with minimal supervision.
  • Preferred 6 months patient care or operating room experience.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
