Onsite Immigration Specialist (NY or Dallas)

About the role

The Onsite Immigration Specialist will work directly at one of Cartus' major financial services clients in either New York, NY or Dallas, TX. Reporting to the Americas immigration team, the specialist ensures smooth execution of the firm’s immigration strategy for both non‑immigrant and immigrant visa matters.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of non‑immigrant and immigrant/green‑card visa filings.
• Track progress, exercise judgment on escalations, and meet immigration milestones.
• Collaborate with external immigration counsel, HR, and business partners to advise on immigration‑related decisions.
• Provide updates on immigration developments affecting employees.
• Support ad‑hoc issues, including U.S., Canada, and LatAm immigration inquiries.
• Assist interns and new hires with immigration requirements.
• Participate in annual immigration projects such as the H‑1B lottery.
• Help maintain and update policy, process documentation, FAQs, and communications.
• Conduct data validation and audits for government filings.
• Work with the Global Mobility team on relocation‑related immigration considerations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of corporate U.S. immigration experience covering both non‑immigrant and immigrant/green‑card matters.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong analytical rigor and ability to perform accurate data audits.
• Client‑service orientation with a proactive, “can‑do” attitude.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of explaining complex processes clearly.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of U.S. immigration law, visa categories, and green‑card processes.
