Oncology Translational Research Scientist Internship

About the role

Join Johnson & Johnson's Global Oncology Internship Program as a Translational Research (TR) Scientist intern. You will work on a hybrid schedule, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the development of new cancer therapeutics, biomarkers, and precision‑medicine strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments or computational analyses to investigate disease biology and identify novel therapeutic targets.
• Collect, record, and analyze data from omics platforms, ELISA, PCR, DNA sequencing, flow cytometry, and cell‑based assays.
• Present findings to project teams, senior leadership, and at the annual global summer intern research symposium.
• Participate in cross‑functional meetings, “Bench to Bedside” lectures, and literature reviews to stay current on oncology research.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university program (undergraduate with at least four semesters completed or graduate pursuing a master’s/PhD).
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Strong interest in drug development, clinical research, and oncology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Experience with computational tools and programming languages such as Python or R for omics data analysis.
• Laboratory techniques including ELISA, PCR, DNA sequencing, flow cytometry, cell culture, and functional assays.
• Proficiency with data‑recording and analysis software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Slack).
