Office Manager - STARBASE Marietta

About the role

The Georgia Department of Defense is looking for an Office Manager to support the Peach State STARBASE (PSS) program in Marietta. This year‑round position blends administrative leadership with classroom assistance, serving as the public face of STARBASE and ensuring smooth operations for up to 600 students.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain databases for current and former academy students and manage the annual academy calendar.
• Prepare and distribute forms, printed materials, and purchase requests; track and receive supplies.
• Schedule and attend pre‑meetings with partner schools, acting as the primary contact.
• Assist lead teachers with classroom setup, instructional tools, and deliver 5th‑grade lessons from prepared STARBASE curricula.
• Establish and keep records for participating schools and classrooms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any field.
• Experience in school administration, classroom training, or related educational support.
• Prior military service is preferred.
• Georgia teaching certification or certification in a STEM field, with experience in primary or middle‑school education.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
• Experience using CAD Engineering software.
• Familiarity with flight simulation and related curricular software.
