Nutrition Education Assistant – EFNEP

About the role

The Nutrition Education Assistant supports the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) by delivering culturally relevant nutrition education to low‑income adults and youth in Fort Worth and surrounding communities. Working under supervision, you will teach in‑person and virtual classes that promote healthy eating, food safety, physical activity, and effective food resource management.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver EFNEP curriculum on nutrition, food resource management, food safety, and physical activity to adult and youth participants.
• Conduct classes both in‑person and virtually, adapting content for bilingual (English/Spanish) audiences.
• Collaborate with schools, faith‑based groups, shelters, and other community partners to recruit participants.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, participant progress reports, and program documentation.
• Assist with program outreach, promotional activities, and community events.
• Follow USDA and Texas A&M Extension guidelines to ensure program compliance.

Required profile

• Paraprofessional educator or equivalent experience in community nutrition education.
• Strong interest in improving health outcomes for low‑income families and youth.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English; bilingual ability (Spanish) is a plus.
• Comfortable working in diverse community settings and handling virtual teaching platforms.
