Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Onsite in Misawa, Japan

About the role

Arcetyp LLC is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the on‑site medical team at Misawa Air Base, Japan. The provider will act as the Primary Care Manager for a diverse patient panel, ensuring continuity of care, preventive health, and medical readiness for service members and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, histories and physical exams for patients of all ages.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, order and interpret labs, X‑rays and other diagnostics.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with the Air Force Formulary and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Perform minor procedures such as wound care, skin biopsies and joint injections.
• Provide women’s health, pediatric care, and behavioral health referrals as within scope of practice.
• Oversee medical readiness, including immunizations, preventive health assessments, mental health assessments and dental readiness.
• Coordinate care with specialists and support pre‑deployment health screenings.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license (US or equivalent).
• Experience in primary care, preferably with military or federal health systems.
• Familiarity with Air Force medical readiness requirements and related policies.
• Ability to work onsite in Misawa, Japan, and obtain any required security clearances.
