NPD Procurement Specialist

About the role

Join Clopay Corporation in Mason, Ohio as a New Product Development (NPD) Procurement Specialist. You will partner with engineering and product teams to source components, manage prototypes, and build supply‑chain strategies for new garage‑door solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Early Supplier Involvement workshops, recommend technologies, and challenge sole‑source specifications.
• Manage rapid‑turn quotations, tooling, sample parts, and first‑article inspections to meet project milestones.
• Conduct target costing, total cost of ownership analysis, and negotiate supplier pricing to achieve margin goals.
• Identify and qualify strategic suppliers, perform risk assessments, and establish dual‑sourcing plans.
• Transition approved designs to production, coordinate tooling hand‑offs, and monitor initial mass‑production runs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience, preferably in new‑product introduction.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, CAD files and complex Bills of Materials.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple product‑launch timelines.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Proficiency in PLM software.
• Advanced Excel modeling and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).
